Bruce F. Katz, Ph.D., Chief Scientist at Coldlight, is author of Neuroengineering the Future, Jones & Bartlett, 2008, an exploration of evolutionary neurology, functional neuroanatomy, personal identity, and neural engineering, including brain-machine interfaces and neural emulation. He has published in many professional journals, and is also the author of Digital Design: From Gates to Intelligent Machines, Charles River Media, 2005. Bruce received his B.A. in philosophy from Duke University in 1981 and his Ph.D. in artificial intelligence from the University of Illinois in 1990. Between 1990 and 1998 he was a lecturer in artificial intelligence at the University of Sussex in the U.K and is currently an adjunct professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Drexel University.
